Weekly Update for Mar 15

Here are your announcements for the coming week:

Brethren, since we are doing more than usual in the office, we will not be sending out a card for the notice of the monthly meetings.  You will get this notice in this weekly update.  There will be no more cards sent out to inform you about the stated meetings, club meetings, or any other functions.  We will go to email only.  If you do not have an email with me or your email has changed, please send it to me so I can put you on the email list.  If you know of someone who does not have an email, please give this information to them that I send out each Monday.  

Our next stated meeting will be Monday, April 5, 2021.  This will be our Remembrance and Renewal service which is an open meetng with ladies invited to attend.  The Chapter of Rose Croix officers will be in charge of this service and we will be following the Covid-19 Protocole.  As always, the meal will begin at 6:30 P.M. and the meeting at 7:30 P.M. We will be reading the names of those who have passed away from April 2019 to April 2020 and from April 2020 to April 2021.  Please if you are wanting to have a meal let me know by calling or by email. I want to have enough meals but do not want to purchase more than is needed. Please brothers if you are going to attend the meeting let me know so I can have a meal for you.  Please let me know by Thursday April 1, 2021 if you will be attending so I can get the food numbers.  

Reunions for 2021 are as follows:           Saturday, March 27, 2021 Ballinger Masonic Lodge, 500 N. Broadway, Ballinger, Texas.  Registration at 8:00 A.M. and will conclude at 4:00 P.M.    Saturday, May 15, 2021  Lee Lockwood Library & Museum, 2801 W. Waco Drive, Waco, Texas.  Registration at 8:00 A.M. and will conclude at 4:00 P.M.  Saturday, October 2, 2021  Clinton Masonic Lodge, 477 Loop 571, Henderson, Texas, Rigistration at 8:00 A.M. and will conclule at 4:00 P.M.  The cost of the reunion is $275.00 for the degrees.  The one day reunion will only present the 4th, 14th, 18th, 30th & 32nd degrees.  Coffee and donuts will be provided before the reunions and a lunch will be served at each reunion.  Please let all the masons of your Blue Lodges know about the reunions.  Remember, if you are the top line signer on 3 petitions for 2021, I will pay your 2022 dues.  If you are the top line signer on 12 petitions, I will give you an endowed membership in WSRB which is $1250.00.  I do not care how long it takes you to get those 12 petitions.  I keep a total for you.  If you need a petition, just let me know and I can email one to you.  Please if you have a candidate for the March 27, 2021 reunion get the petition to me as soon as possible so I can have his file with me in Ballinger.  Also, in Ballinger and in Henderson, we will not have the capability of taking a credit card for payment.  Please bring a check or cash.  

2021 is the year for Supreme Council and Honors.  The 33° members and the KCCH members will be sent nomination forms to be filled out and sent back for your recommendations for 2021 honors. These recommendation must be returned by March 15, 2021 to be considered.   Be sure to fill out the forms in full.  Do Not Just Put The Name of the Member You Are Recommending.  Supreme Council for 2021 is scheduled for August 22-24, 2021, however this will be only attendance for the members of the Supreme Council and the Deputies of the Supreme Council.  The open day on August 22, 2021 will be offered over the internet.  Honors day will be held in Dallas Scottish Rite Temple on Saturday, September 11, 2021.  All those selected for KCCH and 33° must attend to receive these honors.  Selections will be made and announced in the near future.   

The Supreme Council will host Leadership Workshops on the following dates which you must registration before hand to be able to attend.  You can register through the Supreme Council website.  Those dates are as follows: 

April 10, 2021  Virtual  Boise, ID.  April 17, 2021  Virtual Las Vagas, NV.  April 24, 2021  Virtual Atlanta, GA.  May 1, 2021  Virtual Sioux Falls, SD.  May 8, 2021  Virtual Dallas, TX.    Please make your reservations and plan to attend one of the Workshops. 

I hope all is well in your homes and you and your family are doing alright.  If you have not sent in your dues payment for 2021, please do so as soon as possible.  The Supreme Council sent each of you your dues card for 2021 already.  Payment is on the honor system.  Please take care of this as soon as possible so you have that card in your pocket when you attend a meeting.  If you are in financial touble or have medical problems, just call or email and we can work something out.  I look forward to seeing each of you in the very near future.  I will be attending Blue Lodges in West Texas starting in January. 

We will be having the regular 5th Saturday breakfast every time there is a 5th Saturday in a month.  We will resume that on May 29, 2021.  Hope each of you who would like to attend the breakfast and education, and if so, would let me know so I do not get too much food. 

We are still having the 3rd Wed. educational program each month.  If you would like an invitation to the group, just email me and I will send you the link to join the meeting.  It begins at 6:00 P.M. on the 3rd Wed. of each month. Let me know if you would like to attend these educational zoom meetings. I will be talking to Don Rowan to see if we can start back to playing golf again.  Those who would like to play, just let me know and I can add you to the email list.  We try to play on the 4th Wed. of each month weather permiting.  I will send out an email if we are going to play with times, place and other information. 

Again, please help Brenda and I with any assistance you are able to give.  We need each of you to keep in touch with us to let us know if your address has changed, phone number has changed, email has changed, and any other information you can share with us.  We want to help you in any way we can, but would sure appreciate it if you could help us also.  If each of you could send us you current cell phone number and email address it would help us to make sure we stay in touch with you.  .     

Some of you have expressed interest in the Community Grants program that we have through the Waco Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation.  This is a grant for matching funds for any type of community project.  If you are interested in the grant, let me know and I will be happy to send you the guidelines and an application. 

The next meeting of the Piney Woods Scottish Rite Club will take place on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.  The meeting will begin at 6:30 P.M. with a meal and the meeting will begin after the meal.  We always have a program and the ladies are always invited.  The East Texas Scottish Rite Scottish Rite Club next meeting will be on Thursday,  April 29, 2021 which is always the 5th Thurdsay of each month.  It will begin at 6:30 P.M. with a meal and the meeting to follow.  We also have a program at this club meeting.  The LOP in Ballinger also meets on the 2nd Monday of each month which will be on Monday, March 8, 2021.  Meal at 6:30 P.M. and meeting to follow.  The Tri-County Scottish Rite Club which meets in Gatesville at The Mill restaraunt also meets on the 5th Thursday of each month which is Thursday, April, 29, 2021. 

The trip to Ft. Chadbourne this year is on August 12, 2021.  Some of you have already told me you would like to go and have already paid for the trip in 2020.  We still have about 2 more places for the 2021 trip.  If I have more than those two places we can always get another table of 10 for 2021.  Just let me know if you would like to go on this trip.  It is to Ft. Chadbourne in Bronte, Texas.  It will be on Thursday, August 12, 2021.  The meet and greet begins at 5:30 P.M. and the meal is at 6:30 P.M.  The cost is $50.00 per person.  They have a Medal of Honor recepient as the speaker and a very good museum and a restored fort.  Let me know if you would like to attend. 

The regional conference for Grand Master M.W. Ken Curry will be held at the Lee Lockwood Library and Museum, 2801 W. Waco Drive, Waco, Texas on Saturday, March 20, 2021 beginning with registration at 7:00 A.M.  Each who attend will receive a Grand Master’s coin.  The meeting will begin at 8:00 A. M.  Coffee and donuts will be provided.  Please plan to come and support our Grand Master.

Waco Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation

The Waco Scottish Rite Charitable Foundation has a Community Grant Program available. These grants are for any Scottish Rite Club, Lodge of Perfection, Masonic Lodge, or Eastern Star Chapter(s) community projects. If any of these organizations raise money for a community project (a project that helps those in a community) the WSRCF will match up to $2,500.
